                                                               Self-Assessment Essay

Time flies and this semester is coming to an end.  I learned new knowledge points and understood my shortcomings in the FIQWS 10113 class.

When I took this class, my first paper was Personal Narrative. I introduced my own story and my experience in this paper. I watched the comments left by the professor and found that I did not write all of them according to the requirements of the professor, so I screwed up this essay. I searched for more materials and read articles about personal narratives to strengthen my thesis writing. I think the personal Narrative essay is important because I have to write a personal Narrative essay to introduce myself on any occasion or in English class. I am satisfied with the paper assigned by the professor. 

             In this assignment on Discussion Board post 6, I made a serious mistake.  When I didn’t know about musicals, I always thought that music-related movies were related to musicals.  When I saw the professor’s comment, I realized my mistake and immediately corrected it. I used my favorite musical “West Side Story” to complete this assignment.  This assignment is very important to me because it has changed my view of musicals and movies, and it will help me in the future.

This Annotated Bibliography essay is a nightmare essay for me.  I read the request sent by the professor. I couldn’t understand what I tried to write this essay according to my own ideas. When the professor sent a comment, it proved that I did not write according to the requirements, so I went to the professor to talk.  , But I still don’t know the content of this essay, and then I completed this essay according to my own ideas, but I received the same evaluation that my essay was wrong.I went to the writing center at the professor’s suggestion to find out how to write this essay. They sent me a link telling me that there is an Annotated Bibliography essay template.  I referenced the content and mastered the skills of writing this paper.  This is very important to me because this type of essay will be used frequently. Now that I have mastered this writing technique, I will not find it difficult for this article.

My third paper is Research. The format of this paper was once, so I did not receive the wrong evaluation from the professor in the draft, but the professor commented that my writing format was wrong.  This time, I didn’t write as I thought as I did last time. I asked my classmates and the teacher at the Writing center, and they gave me great suggestions for me to modify the format.  I learned the MLA format and the source of use here, which is very important to me because the papers in the university are written in the MLA format, and the source is used to write in the research papers. Therefore,I learned a lot of knowledge points in this paper, and I am very grateful.

All in all, I  learned a lot of essay writing skills and new knowledge points in the class of 10113. I have never watched musicals before, so I don’t know that musicals are literary and wonderful works. I am very grateful that this class gave me access to these wonderful musicals.
